Hebrew School Hours from September through May are Tuesdays or Wednesdays (4:15-6:00pm) and Sundays (9:30-11:30am)

The School Office is open during Hebrew School hours as well as Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00am – 5:00pm and Fridays 9:00am – 3:00pm.

Programs Available:

Sunday School

For 3 and 4 year olds, Kindergarten and 1st Graders.
This program is an opportunity for students and their families to get acquainted with and comfortable in Beth El Congregation on Sunday mornings.  The students take music classes, learn Bible stories and are introduced to the Jewish holidays along with the Hebrew Alef-Bet.  Our teachers are professional educators who work in the Beth El Pre-school, elementary schools or the local JCC.

Project Mishpacha (click for details)

Project Mishpacha is unique to Beth El Congregation.  This program is a perfect blend of student, family and adult learning.  Students come to Hebrew School twice per week.  Each grade level experiences one or two family programs per year.  This is an opportunity for parents to learn with their children about the ideas and concepts that are taught in the classroom.  Parents are encouraged to talk about these ideas and concepts at home in order to bring the discussion alive and to continue the learning.  Parent education is also an important ingredient in their children’s education.  The parents' model that Jewish education is important and that learning does not end with B’nai Mitzvah.  Parent education is taught by the Beth El clergy.

Chavurah Chadasha (click for details)

An education program for a small group of families. The goal of this intimate, distinctive program is for families, together with a small cohort of families (Chavurah), to learn about Judaism through experiential Jewish living.  Judaism becomes an integral part of the families’ lives and not just something that happens in the congregation or school through weekday Hebrew school classes held in homes, Sunday school in the congregation, retreats, field trips and so much more.

Confirmation/Youth Academy (click for details)

Our mission is to maximize the number of teens participating at Beth El Congregation in meaningful Jewish educational, experiential, and social opportunities.  This mission is accomplished through the creation of a positive environment in which teens deepen their connection and commitment to Judaism and the Jewish people. B’nai Mitzvah Department (click for details)

Bar/Bat Mitzvah can be meaningful only if it takes place within the context of adequate religious education as a preparation for and acceptance of commitments for the future.  We require that our Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidates shall have completed a minimum of five years of religious school and are enrolled in religious school at the time of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah.  They are expected to attend a number of Shabbat evening and morning services throughout the year of their pending Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Schapiro Yerushalayim Program(click for details)

A program that is designed to provide a Jewish education for students (kindergarten – 7th grade) who have learning challenges and special needs.  Whether your child requires a class room helper or a private tutor, we can help.  Our mission is to provide a Jewish education that will lead to a fulfilling Bnai Mitzvah experience and on to a rewarding Jewish life.

Gesher L’Tikvah (Bridge to Hope) (click for details)

A program that is designed to provide a Jewish education for students (grades 2 - 7) with Dyslexia and language based learning differences.
