It is a challenge for parents to transport their children from general school to Hebrew School, whether it is a single parent or dual working parent household, new to the area or family members lived out of town.

Neighborhood Schools are convenient for families because:

  • The locations are conveniently located either near home, work and/or school
  • We offer door- to- door pickup from school to the neighborhood school site for some school locations.
Goals for the Neighborhood Schools:

Students:

  • To create an environment in a classroom that promotes students to explore, discuss, and create their own Judaic ideals
  • To teach students through multi-sensory, hands-on, and interactive methods that give them personalized learning experiences
  • To utilize the learning of Hebrew language, vocabulary, and reading to build students’ confidence and self-esteem
  • To train students to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah and lifelong Jewish learners

Families:

  • To accommodate families that live a 20-50 minute drive from Beth El Congregation
  • To educate families according to the mission and vision of Beth El Congregation
  • To empower families to celebrate the Jewish Holidays, Shabbat and to infuse Jewish values in their daily lives
  • To work with interfaith families to teach them about Judaism through discussions and hands-on activities in order to help all family members be comfortable and educated

Community:

  • To create a Jewish community of learners who are dedicated to Judaism and Israel
  • To foster a sense of pride of Judaism in students and families
  • To empower families to perform social action in their neighborhood and beyond
