Sibling Rivlary in the Tanakh
Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau, Joseph and his brothers: these are not only some of the main characters of the Book of Genesis (Bereshit), but also classic examples of sibling rivalry in the Tanakh. Through a close reading of the text as well as an exploration of medieval, modern, and contemporary commentaries, we will study cases of sibling rivalry and discuss how we can learn to apply their lessons to our own and our relationships withothers. $40 Beth El members, $50 non-members.
