As we approach Purim, we once again turn our attention and hearts to the mitzvah of giving Mishloach Manot to friends, family, and even strangers. The practice comes from the Book of Esther with the purpose of ensuring that everyone has enough food for the Purim feast and to increase love and friendship among Jews and their neighbors.
We began offering our family of congregants the opportunity to participate in this tradition during Beth El’s celebration honoring our 75th anniversary in 2023. This year, we continue to build and strengthen our Beth El family at the same time we are supporting our brothers and sisters in Israel.
This year the Mishloach Manot includes products that come from Israel, thus, you will continue to extend the hand of support towards Israel. Since October 7th our focus on the welfare of Israel and the people of Israel Am Chai Yisrael has intensified. Each of us has in our own way given time and money to assist and strengthen our homeland, Israel.
Our opportunity to demonstrate our love and support continues.
