Join us on Friday, February 24 at 5:30 p.m. for our inaugural family Shabbat experience. All families are welcome to participate in a casual Shabbat experience at no cost to you.
The evening will be highlighted by The Levins, a contemporary harmony-driven folk duo and spiritual leaders in multiple New York and New Jersey synagogues. The Levins are known for weaving Jewish themes, songs and stories in a creative and engaging way that is beautiful, original, and compelling to children of all ages. Their service will also be a spirited preparation for Purim.
This family Shabbat experience has been made possible through a generous donation by Dr. Stuart and Hinda Dankner. The Dankner family has been very involved in Beth El Congregation for generations. In fact, Hinda’s mother has been attending services at Beth El since they were held in a movie theater, shortly after the congregation was founded.
Dr. Stuart Dankner served as a pediatric ophthalmologist for 40 years. After retiring from his practice, he wanted to become more involved in the Beth El community. In addition to being a regular at our daily morning minyan services, Dr. Dankner has been working closely with our community engagement team.
“Beth El has been a part of our lives for generations,” said Dr. Stuart Dankner. “After working with children for my entire career, we wanted to make a donation that would benefit future generations of children who walk through these doors. Beth El has provided more for our family than we can ever give back.”
There will be child friendly food to nosh on along with both adult and children’s beverages. Stay tuned for more information about additional family Shabbat experiences throughout the year.
Thank you to Brooke and Matt Rothstein, Jill and Idan Tzameret and Brook and Ethan Zweig for their help in planning this special gathering.
