ZIONISM (2 SESSIONS)
These sessions will focus on the works of Theodor Herzl, Nathan Birnbaum, Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook, Aharon David Gordon, Ze’ev Jabotinsky, David Ben-Gurion, Menachem Begin and Beryl Katznelson. We will explore the difference between social, religious, cultural and labor Zionism.
WHAT ARE THE GAZA STRIP AND THE WEST BANK? (1 SESSION)
This session will focus on the history, demographics, security, and the politics of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
THE KNESSET: HOW DOES THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT WORK? (1 SESSION)
In this session learn how Israel’s Parliamentary democracy functions. Israel’s main legislative body is called the Knesset and functions differently than Congress here in the US in several ways. We will explore how the Knesset came to be and how it functions today. Each session will enable you to learn and better understand Israel’s rich and multifaceted identity.
